The sustainable development of the Reserve is centred in rural development initiatives, to the productive diversification in general, the tourist promotion and the diffusion of natural environment in particular. Ethnographic museums, old mills and forges still in operation, the traditional houses built with a strong wood structure and thicknesses outer walls of stone and mud, the important architectonic patrimony of parishes and hermitages, sources and “potro de herrar” (shoe colt), the gastronomy based on plate diversity and the quality of products and the celebration of popular characteristic festivities are some examples of the cultural resources of the Reserve.
