CIVIL ARCHITECTURE. SINGULAR BUILDINGS
-In La Hiruela, the old forge is conserved, nowadays converted on tourist accommodation, as well as, next to Jarama River, a recovered flour mill from the XVIII century, to which the mechanism has been reconstructed and grinds and original water-wheels have been conserved, so that it can work perfectly.
-In Horcajuelo de la Sierra, the old stone and slate houses stay as a reflection of the mountain traditional architecture. As the most outstanding elements, the forge and the old bullpen are conserved, transformed into tourist accommodation.
-In Montejo de la Sierra, the ruins of an old mill in La Mata river (XVI century) and the shoe colt are conserved. Some old constructions have been rehabilitated and transformed into rural accomodations, reason why the tourist offer in this municipality has contributed to local and regional dynamization. In Montejo, the Mountain Resources Centre works as a head office of all accommodations reserves of Sierra del Rincón.
- Prádena Del Rincón conserves intact its traditional architecture, emphasizing singular elements like the old shoe colt or the source, mills, huts, old irrigation channels and water canalizations. In the surroundings, several branches of real cattle tracks and cattle routes, which can be crossed on foot, are conserved.
-In Puebla de la Sierra, the traditions and the slate, stone and wood architecture of their houses are conserved intact. The old forge, mills, firewood ovens, the old inn, which is a tourist accommodation today, and the sources still stay; concretely, a source, of Arab origin, next to the hermitage of La Soledad, under a shed in form of middle point arc, and other one that was used as public laundry. Some of these architectonic elements have been recovered, following the guidelines of the traditional architecture and in relation with the natural surroundings where they are located.
In the surroundings of the region, abundant stables and huts are dispersed, sometimes isolated or forming singular groupings.
