The five municipalities that compose the Biosphere Reserve count on important elements of the mountain traditional culture, which is shaped in its urban layouts, its civil and religious architectonic patrimony and in its uses and customs. The isolation of some villages of this region has contributed to the conservation not only of its cultural and artistic patrimony, but also of the traditions that have been passing from generation to generation and nowadays they constitute one of its main tourist resources and they have become the signs of identity of these villages.
