ECOSYSTEMS. BROOMS AND SEQUENTIAL SCRUBS
In their majority, scrubs that occupy Sierra del Rincón slopes are the result of the colonization carried out on old crop territories (rye fields) that were left later. Brooms of Cytisus oromediterraneus are abundant shrubs formations in the landscape of the Sistema Central Español (Spanish Central System).

They are located in the summit areas of the Cebollera bulk in Sierra del Rincón, constituting great landscaping interesting scrubs.
Other scrubs, of sequential character, are developed next to the brooms, like lavender and thymes formations, of remarkable extension on the slopes and at the bottom of the depression of Prádena, or rockrose formations, that extend on the sunny spots of the valley of La Puebla. The heathers, which have certain importance in South and East scopes of the Reserve, are in sectors with the greatest superficial humidity and on the schistose materials. Finally, the small brooms have less magnitude, characterizing themselves for being more dispersed formations.
This ecosystem has a great value mainly due to the great faunistic biodiversity associated to it and its decisive role of protection against erosion.
