ZONIFICATION

All Biosphere Reserve is divided in three types of areas in which it is known as zonification. This zonification gives origin to one or several nucleus zones, dedicated to long-term protection, one or several buffer zones or damping zones that they surround to the previous ones and where compatible activities with the conservation can take place and one transition zone where forms of sustainable use of the resources are fomented and practiced.
