After the rural exodus towards the cities typical of years 60 - 70 and, mainly, since 1986, the registered population increases slowly.
The most outstanding demographic increase takes place since 1991, result from the first rural development initiatives related to the productive diversification in general, and to the tourist promotion and diffusion of natural environment in particular.
The demographic rates are typical of the Spanish rural areas. The youth index is low, the oldness index is significantly elevated and the gross rate of natality corresponds with a rank that is smaller than the natality average of the Community of Madrid.
Most of the components of the local communities of Sierra del Rincón belong to the traditional population of the mountain range. Nevertheless, during the last years, a dynamics in which immigrant population begins to arrive at these municipalities has been observed.
